Lawn Mowing
Overgrown Front Yard Mowing in Cedar Falls, IA
Cedar Falls, Iowa
An overgrown front lawn at the garage and driveway was cut, edged, and striped for curb appeal.
The problem
The front lawn at the garage and driveway had gotten away from the owner. Tall grass, weeds, and no edge along the concrete. A one-time hack-down with a dull mower would scalp it. They needed a proper first cut, trim, and cleanup.
The property
Cedar Falls front yard with an attached garage, concrete driveway, porch approach, and turf that had grown past a normal weekly height.
Work performed
We mowed at a height that would not scalp the overgrown turf, trimmed at the porch and garage, edged the driveway and walk, and blew off hard surfaces. Clippings were managed so the approach looked finished the same day.
Materials
- Professional mowing
- String trimming
- Edging
- Debris cleanup
First cut on tall turf, trim at the porch and garage, edge the driveway and walk, and blow off hard surfaces.
Challenges
Overgrown front lawns hide debris along the driveway and wet spots near the walk. The first cut has to be high enough to avoid yellowing the crown. Cleanup is part of the job so the garage apron and walk do not look like a dump of clippings.
Finished result
The front yard is cut, edged, and striped along the driveway. Curb appeal is back at the garage and porch. This is the first-cut standard we use on Cedar Falls and Waterloo front lawns before the yard goes back on a weekly schedule.
